This is an extract from a great article by Chris Ferdinandi pubklished in June 2010. He mentioned 21 random ideas in HR Management but here are the 10 I liked the most<\/em><\/p>\n

1- People have a life outside of work – and it makes them better employees…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

2- The best performers usually don’t make the best managers.<\/p>\n

3- \u00a0Performance appraisals don’t work.\u00a0Regular, ongoing feedback does.<\/p>\n

4- \u00a0People do better work when they feel it’s meaningful and challenging.<\/p>\n

5- \u00a0When you talk in HR jargon, you lose trust and credibility.<\/p>\n

6- \u00a0The best HR pros interact with their employees every day.<\/p>\n

7- \u00a0Those who perform well in interviews don’t necessarily turn out to be good at work too (so much for psychometric this-that-and-the-other)<\/p>\n

8- \u00a0Just because someone did something well at one organization doesn’t mean they’ll do it well at yours. The circumstances are different.<\/p>\n

9- \u00a0Curiosity and drive are more important than experience.<\/p>\n

10- Great HR Management is about getting out of the way (and letting people do amazing things).<\/p>\n
