Abbas Tariq

Abbas Tariq joined the USQ Australia MBA program at MDi Business School after graduating from the University of London Bachelors program in Economics and Management. He completed his USQ MBA International Business in 2012 and then proceeded to work in the HR field in various development organizations. He is currently the Country HR Manager for International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) based in Islamabad.

This is what he had to say about his experience:

“After completion of my Bsc (Hons) degree from University of London and while working for a project of USAID – Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), I wanted to pursue my Masters degree from one of the leading international universities without compromising on my career progression. University of Southern Queensland MBA program offered by MDi was a choice that has not let me down till date both in terms of learning but also career advancement. The credentials gave me a competitive edge while appearing for several interviews in the humanitarian and development sector. Since then, I have been working for several INGOs including Norwegian Refugee Council, Action Against Hunger, CARE-US, International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Commission for Red Cross (ICRC) in Pakistan, Norway, Jordan, Iraq and Syria.

The flexible arrangement and supportive culture at MDi made it possible for me to balance my postgraduate study with frequent official trips and the expectations at work. The diverse team of faculty and students at MDi was itself an enriching experience.

I would strongly recommend the professionals who seek a high quality qualification on their profiles to visit MDi and explore the programs being offered. For students who have completed their Bachelors and who want to study alongside experienced professionals from a diverse background, MDi is the place to join.

Taking the opportunity, I want to thank MDI and USQ for being a major contributor to my professional journey!”
