05 May 2008Management Development Institute - MDi Pakistan- has launched the IELTS English program, based on an 8-weeks period and running on a continuous rolling basis. It is designed to help students and working professionals obtain the international IELTS English proficiency certification for the purpose of admissions in international universities and for jobs
The IELTS student base at MDi includes young people who are aiming to do their Bachelors or Masters Degrees from foreign Universities, executives seeking to enhance their English proficiency and other people from all walks of life wanting to upgrade their skills in reading, writing and speaking English.
MDi IELTS instructors have the requisite language, teaching and professional skills as well as the ability to coach and mentor students to do well on the IELTS test. Our IELTS instructors have international degrees and are trained facilitators in language and communications.
The IELTS syllabus taught at MDi includes the following components:
Listening: Based on the IELTS format of two sets of four exercises, the course will make use of past exams and frequent class quizzes to aid the students. Tips and tricks for listening are included.
Reading: The class will focus on practicing past exam exercises, and the aim is to maximize student ability to speed read
Writing: MDi�s IELTS instructors appreciate how writing can be a challenge for many people from our business school and executive training experience. Our IELTS program will target this area particularly, using exercises to write analyses of given data, and sessions devoted to practicing how to write brief but persuasive pieces and essays.
Speaking: The program will emphasize clarity and correctness. Students will be tutored in appropriate business and personal communication through question and answer exercises, short speeches and abstract thought. This aspect is particularly useful for communication in a foreign country.
The course is designed to address problems that students typically face in each of the aforementioned modules. Interactive class participation and multimedia-enabled class sessions help in making the IELTS offering at MDI high-value and unique.
