Mohsin Maqsood is a telecom executive with Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN). He is currently based in Saudi Arabia. He completed his USQ Australia Dual Masters degree in June 2013. This is what he had to say about his experience:
I started my MBA in 2009 while working for Nokia Siemens Networks in Saudi Arabia. My target was to improve my business and management skills while keeping my current job. University of Southern Queensland MBA at MDi was recommended to me by a colleague who was also doing his MBA with MDi. I started my MBA in International Business and found that USQ’s teaching approach was focused more on real-life business and management issues. This really helped me to apply these concepts in my professional work.
To get more out of my USQ experience, I decided to switch to the Dual Masters program that awards an MBA as well as a Master of Project Management rather than just the MBA in International Business that i had already enrolled in.
Regarding the learning experience, I found the courses extremely valuable and challenging at the same time. Despite the challenges, the flexible MBA schedule, online support from USQ, examination procedures and above all the support from MDi really made it a wonderful learning experience for me.
I have been working as a telecom engineer for Nokia Siemens Networks Saudi Arabia since 2008 and I hope that additional skill sets that I acquired via my MBA will help me to target higher management positions in my organization
